  • DF0UK and „Türen auf mit der Maus“

    For several years now, on the third of October the DARC organizes several special open door events and callsigns related to the popular german TV series „Die Sendung mit der Maus“. This TV series is very loved by many even today including our chairwoman Samantha. So, accompanied by a very huggable friend, we embarked into a journey to „hunt“ for the three special callsigns, DL25MAUS, DL5ELEFANT, and DL25ENTE.

    We managed to get the three of them successfully, and even got one in CW, which several of our group members are in the process of learning. We also had a lot of fun with the several (very young!) trainees that were activating the callsigns at times.

    We really appreciate these special events that keep the spirit of Amateur Radio alive and pass it on to younger generations, and we hope to participate in many more.

  • Umbau unseres Shacks

    Gestern haben wir erneut eine groß angelegt Aufräum- und Umbauaktion im Shack gestartet. Nachdem beim letzten außerplanmäßigen Treffen bereits ein großer Teil alter und kaputter Kabel, Kleinteile und so weiter entsorgt wurden, ging es nun daran den Shack optisch etwas herzurichten. Dabei setzten wir auf die Rackmontage aller fernsteuerbaren Komponenten, um Platz an den Operator-Plätzen zu schaffen.

    In etwas weniger als drei Stunden schafften wir es, unseren Funkraum quasi komplett umzuräumen, sodass sich inzwischen auch wesentlich mehr Personen gleichzeitig in diesem aufhalten können. Das wird in naher Zukunft für den Ausbildungsfunkbetrieb im Rahmen des Lizenzkurses sehr hilfreich werden. Noch vor 22 Uhr waren wir vorerst fertig. Die Wiederherstellung der Verkabelung wird in der nächsten Zeit erledigt, um in einem sauberen und etwas ordentlicheren Shack wieder auf Sendung zu gehen zu können.

  • Cleaning campaign on the 10th of May

    Last Saturday, we continued our large-scale clean-up campaign. We spent a whole day disposing of old cables that had become unusable and other garbage, and started to redesign the interior of the shack. The old cupboard, which could no longer be locked, was removed and a rack, which will contain the remote-controlled technology in the future, was built. At lunchtime, we enjoyed a barbecue together and the beautiful weather.

    We thank everyone who participated. We plan to continue our campaign on our next meetup Wednesday next week.
